Street Bites ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use our applications (iOS, Apple TV / tvOS, and Android) and website located at https://streetbitesapp.com. Street Bites operates and is available throughout the United States (all 50 states) and Canada.
1. Information We Collect
A. Diner Privacy & Anonymous Browsing
We believe in user privacy. Diners and consumers browse Street Bites completely anonymously. We do not require diner account registration, logins, passwords, or personal profiles. Your bookmarked favorite food trucks and radius preferences are saved strictly on your local device and are not linked to your personal identity.
B. Location Information (Optional)
To show you nearby food trucks, carts, and stands, the Street Bites app requests permission to access your device's GPS or approximate location while the app is in use. Location data is used strictly on-device in real time to calculate distances (e.g., within your chosen 3 to 20-mile search radius) and is never tracked in the background, stored on our remote servers, or sold. If location permissions are denied, you can still fully browse all vendors by selecting your region or county manually.
C. Push Notification Tokens
If you choose to receive alerts when your favorite food trucks broadcast live notices or flash specials, the app registers an anonymous device token via Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). This token is tied strictly to the vendor topics you follow, never contains personal identifying information, and can be revoked at any time by unfavoriting the vendor or turning off notifications in your device's settings.
D. Vendor Account & Listing Data
Food truck, cart, and stand merchants who register via our Vendor Portal provide business details including business name, contact phone number, email address, website, scheduled serving locations, operating hours, and uploaded menu files or logos to display on their public vendor profile.
E. Advertising & Diagnostic Data
We may display third-party advertisements via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). AdMob may collect non-sensitive device identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA on iOS or Google Advertising ID on Android) to deliver advertisements. You can limit personalized ad tracking at any time via your device's operating system privacy settings ("Ask App not to Track" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To locate and display nearby food trucks, carts, and stands within your search area.
- To provide one-tap directions via your preferred native mapping application (Apple Maps or Google Maps).
- To deliver opted-in live notices, flash specials, and schedule updates from your favorite food trucks.
- To administer and maintain vendor listings, menus, and operating schedules.
3. Third-Party Services
We integrate reputable third-party infrastructure for essential application services, including Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging), Apple Push Notification service (APNs), and OpenStreetMap. These services adhere to stringent security and privacy regulations.
4. Account & Data Deletion
We fully respect your right to manage and delete your data:
- Diners: Because diners do not create an account, no personal information is retained on our servers. You can clear local app preferences, cache, and saved favorites directly in the app settings, or simply by deleting the app.
- Vendors: Vendors can permanently delete their account, public listings, schedules, and all uploaded menu images or logos directly inside the Vendor Portal under Account Settings. Initiating deletion triggers a confirmation ("Are you sure?") and immediately purges all database records and file directories stored under your vendor ID. Alternatively, vendors may email support@streetbitesapp.com with the subject "Delete My Vendor Account" for prompt deletion within 48 hours.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Street Bites is a general-audience directory and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 years of age (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
